Free Music Practice Space for our Community
The Music Studios at the Bliss Music Center will provide musicians and music enthusiasts of all ages with free, dedicated space to practice, learn, and create. Located on the third floor of the New Rochelle Public Library, these practice pods remove cost and space barriers that too often limit access to music learning and creative expression.
Designed for students, adults, and families alike, the Music Studios will support everything from skill-building and rehearsal to lifelong exploration of music. The Music Studios are expected to open late 2026.

What are the Music Studios?
The Music Studios are a new addition to the Bliss Music Center and include:
- Soundproof practice studios
Custom-designed rooms (approximately 10’ x 10’) for individual and small-group practice. - A shared Library of Instruments
Instruments available for use during practice sessions, allowing patrons to learn and explore without needing to own an instrument. - Free, easy booking
Studios will be reservable through the Library’s online reservation system and available at no cost to Library patrons.
Why this matters
Demand for music practice space in New Rochelle is high, while affordable options are limited. Students often lack places to practice outside school, and many residents, especially those in apartments or shared housing, face space and noise constraints. As downtown development and high-density housing grow, these challenges continue to increase.
The Music Studios respond directly to this need, creating a welcoming, accessible resource for the entire community.
How you can help
Thanks to a generous matching challenge from a New Rochelle Public Library Foundation donor, we are well on our way to achieving our goal. Gifts of $1,000 and more will be recognized on a special plaque in the Bliss Music Center.
You can support the Music Studios by:
- Making a gift
- Underwriting a practice studio
- Sponsoring an instrument set
- Connecting us with others who believe in equitable access to the arts
