The mood was lighthearted at the November 16th Cocktails & Conversations as Kamili Bell Hill, local author and “PlantBlerd” creator with nearly 60,000 social media followers, discussed her lively media journey with Prof. Amy Bass and shared horticulture tips from her book Happy Plants, Happy You. Hill says houseplants helped her “exit the stress highway.” Her book is part self-exploration and part houseplant handbook — “a plant-based roadmap to a happier you.” Guests enjoyed delicious appetizers and drinks provided by Alvin & Friends Restaurant. Books were available for sale and signing from J Anderson’s Books. Proceeds benefit the NRPL Foundation.
Cocktails & Conversation is one of the NRPL Foundation’s signature events, designed to bring book lovers together. The evenings feature authors in a discussion moderated by Prof. Amy Bass, Ph.D., NRPL Foundation Board Member, historian and acclaimed author (One Goal: A Coach, A Team and the Game That Brought A Divided Town Together).
