A Joyful New Chapter for Our Library
The Children’s Garden is a vibrant outdoor space where curiosity, creativity, and community take root. Created through the vision of the New Rochelle Public Library and the NRPL Foundation, the Garden transforms an underused area into a welcoming place for hands-on learning, imagination, and play.
The project began during the pandemic, when the need for outdoor learning became clear. Thanks to a $250,000 federal grant and the dedication of the Library and Foundation teams, the foundation of the Garden was built. Now, with community support, we are bringing the space fully to life with playful furnishings, learning tools, and creative features that will fill it with wonder.

Help Our Garden Bloom
The Children’s Garden expands the Library’s ability to inspire learning for all ages. Designed for flexibility, it will host performances, workshops, reading activities, and family programs throughout the year — creating new ways for children and families to experience the joy of learning together, outdoors, and surrounded by creativity.
Every great community project begins with a shared dream. The Children’s Garden is ours — a lasting expression of creativity, nurturing, and possibility. Every contribution helps open doors to learning, exploration, and joy.
Gifts of $1,000 or more will be recognized on a beautiful garden-themed Donor Wall celebrating those who helped the Garden grow.
